Aqua Ground Test #2 - cardboard
I thought to myself that something was weird about the Aqua Ground (right). So I tested it against my transparent Gesso (left).I would have never thought that Gesso could be a game changer with watercolour. But it is. The paint dries fast, there is almost no bleeding even if wet colour touches itself. The texture scares me though. It could ruin soft bristled brushes. But I didn't want to test that.
On the other hand, Aqua Ground blew me away. I struggled so hard with the first layers that I thought to give up. But after letting it dry completely it turned into oil painting. The blending possibilities were insane. You just wet the layer below and you can do everything. Even better then with any paper type I ever owned. The only thing I hate is the shininess.
