I guess understanding some of the core basics is good. Like having an understanding on how things look and move naturally so that movement doesn’t look mechanical. Understanding follow though and what not. It’s sorta hard to explain

•Watch out for jittering lines, nothing breaks an animation fast than lines skipping around.
Also plan out your keys! It's endlessly helpful for making your animation flow naturally and blocking out your spacing and timing. Keys to animation is sketches to illustration.
