People who have ADHD and don't take medication for it, do you have any tips on how to deal with it?
Like how do you function on a daily bases and manage to do stuff like art?
I think that could be my issue, I didn't see a doctor about it yet though :(Aug 24, 2025

personally i use a physical calendar placed somewhere i know ill look at it! i track when i last showered and did the laundry, along with due dates and when assignments need done. if you are in school or doing some kind of project that has a specific timeline i also find it helpful to print out the course schedule or that sort of thing so you know for sure and don't have to note down due dates yourself!! its helpful to find something that you know you won't ignore. i also lump tasks together sometimes, like if im already waiting for something like the oven to be ready, thats also a good time to do the dishes since thats quick and it's a task that is right there where im doing stuff. momentum is very helpful in that way too! checking on one thing often makes my brain realize i may need to check on other things

Autistic person with high ADD here, I don’t need medication either.
In my case, I made a time table with post its on top of my closet so I keep track of stuff to do. Not only by looking at it but also writing, crossing out, moving them around and using different color for top to bottom priorities.
Sometimes I also use desktop pets with timers to keep me company during class projects. Especially the ones with Pomodoro alerts, so they remind me to take breaks from time to time. There’s multiple on Steam, but I use one called “Weyrdlets” which is free.

I may or may not have adhd, it’s hard to tell because I got a bunch of other mental illnesses I need to get sorted before I can explore later. I do however suffer from things like time blindness and not being able to focus if I’m hungry or overwhelmed.
However I have found something that seems to be helping me remember to do my daily tasked and chores, I got a big calendar white board and stuck it to my door. Not only do I write up coming events but also things like what day I last showered, when did I scoop the cat litter last. It’s been really helping me stay on top of things and not fall pray to time blindness. (Note this is different from a planner or phone calendar because it’s right in my face on my door and it’s huge, we’re talking 24in by 18in. I can’t miss it or forget it exists)
I also think connecting my phone to a Bluetooth speaker and playing music also helps me focus. I don’t doom scroll because I don’t want what I’m watching blasting through the house and the music helps keep mg brain focused because they’re a second set of stimuli to keep it from getting as easily distracted.
