an art related question

how many drawings / projects do you work on at the same time?
i mean do you have many WIPs laying around and do you draw them finished one at the time?
i usually like drawing one piece at the time (and im not doing any commissions etc right now). i don't like to start a new drawing until i'm ready with what i'm doing at the moment. ofc i have some unfinished projects in my files but usually they are 1. abandoned (as in im not going to draw it ever or i want to start over) or 2. they are just sketches / thumbnails / just me experimenting things. if i do any bigger pieces or something more rendered that takes more time, i like to do sketches in between the drawing sessions (i find it helping the process a lot sometimes).
and doing traditional art is very different for me. i have like 20 projects going at the same time
and i hate it.
+ welcome all new users!!! i have been a little overwhelmed with this app for the last couple of days (mostly because my head has been very slow and it doesnt match very well with the lag of this app asdfgjkl) so i never said this. but im excited to see everybodys art!! and hoping that you have a nice time hereApr 12, 2021

i usually work just one piece at the time too:D sometimes it's more if i'm feeling really stuck with the old piece

β’most of the time i only focus on one 'big' project like a full drawing, unless it starts annoying me. then i abandon it or finish it months later
β’
β’I can only work on one piece at a time. Anymore than that and I get seriously overwhelmed

Depends on how stressed you want me to make you
I have hundreds of wips on the go at any one time (my other artist friends get stressed thinking about it). I enjoy too many art forms and have paintings, drawings (pencil, pen, charcoal etc) plus SO many digital wips

β’I usually have 1 going at a time(not including sketches) but sometimes I have up to 3, tho usually I end up only finishing/posting one of them.
β’
I focus on one or two drawings at a time, but I have a sprawling graveyard of WIPs that never get finished

β’
Always one too many
And a lot of thumbnail ideas I have for the future. I want more hands!

β’Right now I have around 6/7 projects going at the same time actually (and I realise that itβs a lot lol) but I made a timetable recently so I have times dedicated to each project. We will see how it goes because I am usually like you and like to finish one project at a time otherwise it falls into the neverfinished land
Almost all my projects are digital tho so good thing about that is I can grab and work on anything at anytime (like when I am on potato mode in the couch lol)

β’I'm the same way. I gotta work at one thing at a time or I might have a meltdown
and if I get lots of ideas I draw them as thumbnails and revisit them later.

β’Hey! Nearly everything you said is the same with me
the same with traditional drawings. Iβm so afraid of ruining the drawing and have to βprepareβ for drawing traditionally so much mentally. Even if I think I like traditional drawings more than digitally, digital is just more relaxed for me.. I wish I had the courage to do traditional drawings

β’Iβm that kind of person who almost never finish a drawing XD
I have a whole folder of wips that Iβll never finish
Sometimes I leave a drawing unfinished for a couple months then come back and finish it XD

β’Hmmm I mostly work on one or two drawings at the time (mostly analog, sometimes there is a stack of linearts that will get some digital treatment and need to be scanned) but i also work on some bigger projects at the same time. I'm writing two scripts for comics atm and try to work out a more efficient way of drawing pages, bc there is so much to do and so little time

β’i'm one of those people who has way too many wips aha! i sketch a lot because sometimes i have too many ideas on my mind, but if i'm not in the mood for something i put that aside.
only when i find a sketch that matches my mood I switch mindset and start doing one thing at a time, so i can focus and try to finish the piece in the best way possible.
otherwise i end the day full of random sketches
idk my process is very messy

β’
β’hmmm I usually have around 4 ideas in my mind but 2 pieces in the works at one time cause I have a rlly short attention span and will end up not finishing a piece if I have too many TT but my advantage is my style is simple so I can finish most pieces in 4 hours max
β’
β’Hi there!! For me, I would say I usually work on one at a time too! I find it hard to focus on more than one and still give the same quality and care to each (β:
