Once again, I found myself sitting in front of my drawing tablet, the familiar feeling of quiet excitement filling the room. It was that warm, creative calm that I always feel when I begin another piece of digital art—another chance to bring my characters, my ideas, and my emotions to life through colour and light. This time, I decided to revisit two of my most beloved original characters, Liliana and Arlon—the mascots of my ideal romantic love. Every time I draw them, it feels as though I am sketching my own dream of what pure, affectionate love should look like: gentle, wholesome, and eternal.For this piece, I imagined them as children by a peaceful pond, surrounded by lush greenery and the soft hues of a garden blooming under daylight. The water reflects the sky like polished glass, and the bright colours of flowers sway along the pond’s edge. In this tranquil setting, Liliana sits beside Arlon and wraps her arms around him lovingly, her left arm resting across his shoulders as she gently pulls him close to her side. Arlon sits nestled against her, leaning just slightly toward her warmth, his expression one of quiet happiness—shy, yet deeply content.
Liliana, as always, radiates her signature charm and gentle confidence. I drew her in her white strapless romper, a simple yet elegant outfit that embodies her youthful and cheerful nature. The romper softly hugs her frame, fluttering slightly near the hem, perfectly matching the brightness of the garden around her. Her long, milk-chocolate brown hair cascades down her back in soft, voluminous waves that glimmer in the light. I added a small white flower tucked delicately into her hair—something I always associate with her sweet, affectionate personality. Her sparkling blue eyes, bright as polished crystals, catch the daylight in a way that makes her look both ethereal and kind. Her smile is gentle but meaningful—protective, loving, and full of unspoken emotion as she holds Arlon close.
Arlon, on the other hand, exudes a quieter, softer kind of beauty. I gave him his usual white collared shirt paired with khaki dungarees, the classic combination that represents his calm, down-to-earth character. His tousled dark-brown hair frames his face naturally, and his brown eyes gleam with warmth and sincerity. His expression is a mixture of shyness and admiration—his gentle smile directed slightly upward toward Liliana. He looks safe and at peace in her arms, as though he has found a world of comfort just by being beside her.
There’s something about this pose that captures their essence perfectly. Liliana’s embrace isn’t possessive—it’s nurturing. When I finished this piece and leaned back to look at it, I couldn’t help but smile. I wanted to capture that tender, unspoken emotion between them—the mix of fondness, protection, and quiet love. And as I stared at the finished artwork, I felt it perfectly reflected the romantic ideal I’ve always carried within me: a love that isn’t loud or flashy, but pure and nurturing; one that grows from friendship and is built on trust, comfort, and understanding.
