Today, I noticed someone dance around the question "Why are there so many words for not cis not straight identities?"
and I'm thinking that language is always in motion, always evolving, and each and every term in these lists is precious. Because, for every one of them, there are people who go: THAT word, that definition, that is exactly my experience, it resonates, it's useful, it's mine, and it describes an important part of who I am.Feb 17, 2022

Yep, language changes constantly so does sexuality and gender most times having a word for what you are helps you feel better and validated :)

Fully agree! There are some labels that are practically the same thing but one of them just fits better. Using the other one doesn’t make me happy which I kind of weird.

•agreed !! this is why I think some of the more specific labels (or ig some called micro labels) are helpful!! im on the asexual spectrum, but without labels such as demisexual or aegosexual, I feel like it just wouldn't describe exactly how I feel about that just by saying asexual. being demiromantic, that's a very useful label too as if I just told my friends I was aromantic, they'd probably ask questions bcuz I have a boyfriend. there are lots of labels that come in spectrums and I think it is also much more helpful to let people use more specific terms that are more accurate to how they feel
