one of my hens is broody and usually they don’t get this way often or very long, which i assume is from 1) their age (5 yrs) 2) no rooster, however this hen has been broody for a few days and she seems SO much more determined than the other hens when they were broody. usually i’ll see the broody hen come out every once in a while, not often at all, but this one i never ever see. from the morning i let them out to the sunset i let them in, i never see her out, she’s always on the nest. i feel so so bad taking the eggs from her, she sounds so heartbroken, but we don’t have the resources or money to take care of babies :( it’s a dream of mine to one day allow one of my own hens to hatch chicks of her own!Aug 9, 2023
