What you can do is see what colors goes well with the character and what does not-you can try using the same colors that is already on the character, but it’s gonna blend in with the character more likely. once you got that figure out what type of outfits fit that character and/ or their personality, via looking at references or even your own closet. Sorry I’m not too good with clothes either, but hopefully that helps at least a little bit ^^,
