Bailey Forrest riding Mates Dun It Cajun

Finally the big show day came and after a short couple weeks of work, Bailey and Cajun had to showcase the progress they had made. Bailey knew it would not be perfect but Cajun had raw talent and with the little practice he had with Bailey, the girl figured they would do pretty good overall. She hopped up into the saddle and sat with a few friends by the ring waiting to go in for the reining cow horse section of the ending show.

Entering the ring, Bailey encouraged the gelding into a hand gallop around half of the arena in a large circle and upon returning to the center of the ring, slowed Cajun to a lope. Still on the left lead, the pair then performed a smaller circle at the lope and came back to the center. Picking up the hand gallop and switching leads to the right, Cajun and Bailey made a large circle to the right and slowed to a lope once they returned to the center again and at the lope made a smaller circle to the right. After coming back to the middle, Bailey loped Cajun up the side of the ring and then cut a circle short to gallop across the middle of the ring and then slid to a stop at the opposing end. After a hesitation they spun to the left three times. Galloping to the opposite end and performing another sliding stop, the girl and her gelding hesitated and spun three times to the right, facing the middle of the arena again. They galloped 3/4 the way across the arena, sent dust flying with another sliding stop and then backed up. Bailey whispered encouragement to Cajun as this was the end of the reining portion.
