🌟

I want to show my improvement over the course of about 1.5 years — achieved by simply taking my time.

I notice that many artists nowadays seem to be in a rush to grind and improve at a fast pace, but it can be dangerous! I will always warn people when I can to rest.

When I was in art school, I injured my wrist from drawing too much, and since then my wrist has never been the same. I have learned to put up with the daily pain. Sometimes it keeps me awake. When I draw, the pain will stop me only 30 minutes in. If I keep going, it is even worse.

I struggled a lot to come to terms with this. I see young artists pumping out artwork everyday and I get depressed that I can’t draw like them... so I would stop drawing. For long periods of time, like weeks or even a full month.

I realized each time when I came back, that my improvement was a full leap rather than a mere step.

Everyone works differently. You don’t have to ruin your body in order to improve. Sometimes, just taking it easy, observing and absorbing, is more than enough.

Woah your improvement is so impressive! Really appreciate your hard work! 💜🌿✨
They are both so so pretty!! The older one for some reason reminds me of the painting "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog" 💖
Oooow that’s amazing 🤩🤩
The caption is such a good reminder! Especially with how some artists feel the need to get as much out there for ig. I love the way your lighting and color choices have changed and the movement in the piece
Wow that's really awesome
Wow! Your improvement is huge! But it's also sad to hear what you have been going through back then... I hope it will get better someday❤️
Omg I'm so sorry to hear about your wrist, that sounds horrible!!
That's very true!!!! I love how artists show they experiences throw worda and work! Good job!!! Keep going!!!
Wow, this is amazing 💕🌸
Hng I wish I'd be blessed with distinct improvement like you do someday, my improvement is kinda slow-paced but its still a progress. BTW both illustrations are beautiful in its own way🥺💜💜
I also know an artist who has a permanent hand injury also from excessive drawing, and since I found out about that I got scared if ever there will be a time my hand would be injured too. Sometimes I envy other artists for already mastering their art, but I always keep in mind not to overdo things.

Your art is very beautiful, btw, both 2019 and 2020 version 💕
