KópakonanThe 6th lady of the Merfolk Kingdom. Lady Kópakonan. Kópakonanis a Selkie with a tragic past, based upon one of the official tales known as the Legend of Kopakonan. Where a young farmer steals her skin in an attempt to force her to become his wife. But after she escaped and upon learning she is married to another Selki, he does the unthinkable and has her husband and two children murdered. The story ends with her Promising vengeance and drowning a grate number of human men in the process. And “Given that her story is in public domain.” I shall continue her tail
Though her aggression towards humans is unmatched among the 8 lady’s of the Merfolk Kingdom, she is very gentle towards those of any other race, making her far less aggressive then Atlanta, or even the Queen herself. She is the oldest among the eight lady’s and tends to act very motherly around them. She is loyal to the Queen, but makes it very clear that if her sisters ever choose to spare humanity for there crimes, Her world will declare independence from the Kingdom and with her Selki clan, she will finish the job herself in eradicating humanity from the stars. Making her the biggest threat of all the mermaids to the human race.
her backstory will not 100% stay true to the original tale, as some parts of it conflict with my own writing. So her backstory will be a Kopakonan retelling. Still, ever since I read her story, I wanted to continue her tail even is she is just a side character. And give her an ending where she does find a level of peace moving forward…though the cost of peace may come at a price.Jan 9, 2024
