@PachiChu's post on Artfol
Greetings, fellow deep divers!
I have a new video for you. And it's the start of my platypus journal.

Also, my brain really isn't here or there anymore. Not only do I want to start this new series, I bought an oil painting and want to restore it. I just finished cleaning it. It just had a tiny bit of dust and dirt. I also don't think it's varnished. But I am a bit scared to record the progress. Because restauration YouTube fans are vicious. But this painting is so freaking gorgeous, and I want to fix it nonetheless. You see my problem here?
Maybe if I don't use the word restauration, I will be spared. Repainting or cleaning or fixing could be a good way. But fixing also has a negative connotation because of social media. I want to record it because I want to preserve the time and effort I put into that piece. It needs sanding, painting and varnish. Someone overpainted with acrylics, and you can see the colour differences. Drives me mad. I also want to send a message of "if you see something broken and you want to fix it, just do it.". Dunno, maybe I am stupid.
The series, btw is Animal Crossing decorations remade with a twist. I already started. And if you saw my posts, you will know it is a daruma doll. It is so freaking adorable.
I also started painting an experiment. It's a spinner but in animal shape. It doesn't really spin right now. I think gloss varnish will fix that.
I hope you have an amazing weekend.
And if you have an idea about the oil painting video, please tell me. I am torn.Jul 19, 2025
