Theres so much that maks his character cool as her brother… but its also so cool if he was her alter ego

I think play with the alter ego idea for a little (maybe like a month), see if it makes the plot more interesting or exciting. If it patches up some plot holes or makes for interesting character dynamics or something of the like, I say keep it. If it does not help the story in any way, then go back to Raven as a real person.

I think the whole alter ego thing sounds awesome. BUT..
If you're too attached to Raven as a real person to make him imaginary and you think you'd regret it, you could always keep him and Gem the way you had them originally, and come up with other characters to use the alter ego idea on..?

gem's alter ego, there's already a lot of other characters that have brothers, if he's already cool as her brother he will be way cooler as her alter ego
