It's not weird. I feel the same way. Sure, I have favorite characters and may thought they're cute or look really good; but I never really have "crushes" on them. It felt weird to read fanfic involving yourself as the reader with the character. I enjoy pairing up characters with other characters a hell a lot more than a reader self-insert romance.

•I had/have crushes (like I think XYZ is hawt/beautiful/spouse material/etc) but they were never to the extent of some people's, like I never felt okay with/was interested in self-shipping or reading/making canonXreader fics. That was always too weird for me. So it generally manifested as me simply making the character part of my personality instead.

I don't think that's weird at all!I ALSO never had crushes in highschool/toward fictional characters, It’s not weird. It actually helped me came to the realization I was aro/ace :D

Maybe You just haven't seen anyone worth being attracted to? or you prefer it real! I can't say the same about this for myself(I maladaptive daydreamed my way through highschool)
