They are both very similar such as being a jack of many trades or having the same motivations and nothing getting in their way achieving it. However, they are very different when it comes to how they deal with things.
Alastor has a sense of morals. Is actually very smart but he impulsively does the dumbest shit cause he can. He's always in conflict with his self preservation and wanting to just jump into every danger possible. Fun fact, he has a quarter of giant blood in him.
Victor has no morals. He will always showcase his intelligence. Surprisingly has his shit together. Problem, is that he stabs or breathes fire on people that slightly annoys him. Very blunt, does not care about lying or hiding his intentions. The most reliable when it comes to getting things done. Fun fact, he has dragon blood in him and can shift into a dragon.
