For those who have experience with oil pastels, I have a few questions!
What sort of tools do you feel work best for blending? Do cheap supplies work just as good as expensive ones? What techniques are your favorites to utilize with oil pastel art?
I found a nice pack of oil pastels for cheap today, and I would love to get tips on how to use them. Feel free to yap about your art and techniques! I need all the advice I can get.Feb 4, 2025

I use my fingers with big areas to blend and use a stub to blend or make small details. I hope this works. I don't use oil pastel much...

I used oil pastels a few times in middle and high school. My teacher always taught us to make use of blending stubs (we made them out of paper tool) to help us blend things. You can use your fingers too but they get messy fast.

I have zero experience with oil pastels (I tried them a few times in the past but they never worked for me, and I don't know how to store drawings made with them), but I remember I used to watch an artist on youtube that uses them. His user is BlackBean CMS and he even made one or two tutorials if I remember correctly, plus his style is very unique
