Is nobody going to talk about how uncomfortable that scene was with Jackie and Jim??? I only saw people talk about it once in context of "i ship it" and????? That's... Assault??? Touching someone who's clearly uncomfortable with a clear sexual intent is assault. She knew what she was doing and she knew it was Jim and even if she didn't it was not good. Like i get they're pirates and do all sorts of bad things, i can live with that, but can we at least not treat it like it's hot? I'm glad Jim and Jackie talked and seem to be chill now but WHAT THE FUCK
And no, for me that scene didn't read as "Jim's actually into it it's fine they just don't want their cover blown", it read as UNCOMFORTABLE
Maybe it is indeed my personal traumas talking, but can we as a fandom address that it's not hot? Or are we just going to go the "huge sexy pirate lady" way? Because fuck that. I did like Jackie's part in teaching Jim to let go of revenge, and she's a really cool character in every other aspect, but this makes me want to avoid talking about her at all costs
(Can't help but wonder, If a male actor played this character or if the character were male, how different the reaction would be? Seriously. Would people still think it's hot or would they notice the r4pey vibes?)

A tall pirate woman pinning someone to a wall is hot but only it it's with consent or at least mutual chemistry(!) and it's totally possible in Fiction to have both. I'd sooner believe they had some chemistry in their last encounter, but not in that one. That scene didn't feel like it had any of those things, it was just "hehe I'll make you as uncomfortable as possible because of what You did"Apr 9, 2022
