It's Syna
Hi there!I just got access to Artfol and I decided to upload a self portrait from January 2020 as my first post. Here I practiced another style of outlining with pencils instead of a fineliner and I really like how it looks. Also pls appreciate this hand I drew. I never will be able to draw a hand that neat.
Right now I'm practicing because I've been in a huge artblock lately (story of my life...). That's why I don't want to draw a newer portrait of myself right now.
But I'd really like to introduce myself~
I'm a 26 years old traditional artist located in Germany. My drawing journey began when I was a small berry* when my older sister introduced me to the world of anime. I was about 4 or 5 years back then and I drew mostly Pikachu and Sailor Moon. (I'm so sad that I don't own my early drawings anymore!)
I never took my drawing skill that seriously and I always drew when I felt like it - so almost everytime I got bored, mostly when I was in school.
When life got much more complicated with adult stuff (like an apprenticeship) I just doodled here and there a little but I never was satisfied with the outcome and so my frustration abounded. This went on for about 10 years until I finally decided to pick up a pencil again. I'm feeling the lack of practice and I get demotivated a lot while drawing because I sometimes don't get things right. But I try my best to overcome this frustration and practice everyday to become better at drawing so I can create something beautiful.
Sorry for the wall of text and you are so precious for reading until here. Comment with a
if you read all this. I'm curious.
* They're sweet but can be sour/bitter as well and that perfectly describes me, that's why I like to use it as a nickname for myself.
