Does anyone have any tips for overlaying texture on a drawing in procreate?

I always see digital art with really nice textured effect to it and I’ve tried doing a few tutorials but they usually look slightly.. off when I try it myself

If anyone has any tips or knows about a good tutorial for this please let me know 🙏

Take a pic of crumpled/rough paper, then import
It’s all in the layer type and opacity. A clipping mask overlay layer or a normal layer with adjusted opacity works wonders
what kind of texture are you going for?
You can try using a photo of texture like concrete or old metal (there’s websites that specifically just have photos of textures for artists to use). Mask the texture over the thing you want to texture. Try messing with the filters and opacity to get the look you want. Other than that you can use a textured smudge brush when you’re blending
I've been using the noise effect on overlay for the past months, if used right it kinda looks like paper, I ended up using this because I too couldn't find any good tutorials or textures🥲
