Fruit, english language probably hasn't evolved before the fruit evolved into what we know in the English language as an "orange"

The fruit. Before that linguistically speaking it would have been considered a shade of red or yellow. There weren’t as many words for colors back then which is also why some old texts never mention the color blue, because it wasn’t considered it’s own color for quite some time. Something similar did happen with fruit though, were most fruits were called apple at some point. Like the banana apple or something like that because fruit were just apples. (At least if I remember all of these things correctly)
