redesign ediesign^ I don't usually title my stuff the same as my file names but I'm so tickled by this stupid pun so I'm having all of you deal with it too :]
I have a backlog of older art to get through ajsjsjd but I didn't want to just say "I'm redesigning my blorbos :]" and not follow up until ages later bahaha-
This is a redesign (in progress) of Edelweiss (he/xim)!

Okay I'm in a really chatty mood so I think this'll read quite disjointed -- apologies in advance haha XD
Initially this was just meant to be a clean sketch :/ I think I ended up committing to the colouring process because of xir hair pattern -- I think it's hard to depict with just lines haha. I'm not fully happy with it yet though, so I think I'll rework the shapes a couple more times until it better resembles a cardamom tree dragon for me. I also need to find a way to simplify it or else xe'll quickly become my least favourite character in future comics and animations
I also changed xir hair a little more! It always peeves me that I'm covering all of my characters' foreheads or faces with hair, so I pulled more of xir hair back (although I did still end up pulling some locks to sit out at the front </4 I am weak and easy)
I don't know how much it shows, but I'm trying to be a bit more conscious of face structures with my characters :] I feel like Edel was made of a couple of straight and curved lines before, but now I can point to their face and say where the bones are and all :] Edel's lips are fuller too wnskaks I think it's just more fun to draw haha-
I feel like the biggest change is with xir animal inspiration! I quite like the thorny devil actually, and I'll miss the sandy terracotta hair that Edie used to have, but I feel like xir scales looked a little slapped on and unconfident :v I love the spines xe has now hehe, it reminds me of facial piercings and I love the idea of Edel being more alt
I want to put more spines on xim actually but I'll need to figure out how that affects xir daily life before I fully commit to it
