Beatrice on the BeachHi Beatrice is pretty and even when I’m too lazy to put in effort drawing her I still think she looks pretty. But that’s probably just because I made her,,, and I know what she would look like if she were real.

Also if anyone has tips on shading/ knows any good tutorials please dm me. I don’t understand how lighting works T-T

If you're new to shading, I would suggest defining one light source, just so it's easier to keep track of the light. Since this is a beach scene, the light would come from above. You can change the angle a bit to suit your preference. The further away from the light source, the darker the shadows. Based on my experiences, using a darker color on a multiply layer is a good way to start shading. I have more experience using cool colors. A warmer color would probably look better for something like this. Your specific shading technique will have to depend on how you define your style, but I would advise against using a huge airbrush because it makes the edges fuzzy and undefined. If you don't want completely hard edges, you should probably use a smaller airbrush/ soft brush. You can also use a hard brush to shade and use a blur/blend tool to soften the edges.
