Finally understanding (day 14)
PLEASE READ STORY BELOW!
(catch up with the story with my other posts)
âYou are not broken, Willow,â her dad pulled her into a tight hug, they were both teary eyed. Miss Delarosa agreed, âYour dad is right, Youâre not broken. Having problems or feeling bad can happen to anyone and sometimes we all need help to get through it. Now, it sounds like the problem might involve some kind of anxiety disorder. You might also be experiencing panic attacks. Do you know what that is?â Willow shook her head. âA panic attack is a sudden intense fear or discomfort. It can sometimes have a trigger like a high stress activity, or it can come at random. It can feel like you canât breathe, nausea, dizziness, chest pain...That sounds a lot like what youâve been dealing with, right? And considering youâve also been avoiding things that feel like triggers, there may be an underlying anxiety disorder that's being triggered by the fear of another attack.â Willow was surprised there was a term that seemed to describe exactly what she was dealing with. âPanic attacksâŠâ she repeated. She was sort of relieved to know what it was. And now that they knew the problem, she thought, they must be able to fix it. âAlright, then how do I stop it?â She asked. Miss Delarosa sighed, âWell, itâs unfortunately not that simple, Willow.â
