to be honest, i had a lot of fun drawing this! i loved how the colors turned out and i'm very proud of how this turned out! :D
she's supposed to be based on a cookie cutter shark since they're bioluminescent and live in the deep sea, plus it would fit with her grumpy and stubborn personality in my opinion.
(also the little blobs on her tail are supposed to be pieces of coral)
for anyone curious, here's a quick summary about her:
Marina is a stubborn young lady who's not the kind of smile a lot. Growing up with strict parents, she developed a rather rebellious personality and goes up to the surface often, despite their retaliations. She wears silver rings that were a gift from her grandmother (though one of them has started to rust). Marina also has a passion towards fashion (hey, that rhymes!) and likes to try on new necklaces and hair accessories. She also likes to take weekly trips through nearby coral reefs, hence why she has pieces of them stuck to her tail. She's still trying to find a way to get them off. Marina can also breathe fire if she's angry enough; However, she can only really do this when she's on the surface. Otherwise it just comes out as smoke.
