How would your OC react to being placed in the real world as we know it today?

Riaj and Kian's world isn't that different from ours honestly and they live till modern times so they'd probably be okay assuming the languages are the same. If not well Riaj already has experience having to learn a language from someone who doesn't speak hers so I guess that's okay

Esther would probably love the opportunity to go to school. I still think she’d find a career in entomology.
Willard would be a terrible detective. Bar from the fact he barely read or write.
He’d be bored out of his brains.
A huge difference to both of them would be the food here.
A detail I made up when I was much younger is that “Cows” were these round masses of meat. Fed intravenously.
The overall quality of the food people in their class have access to is often less nutritious and more bland.
So I think they’d find this place a lot more comfortable. Maybe unsettlingly so.

So it depends on if they would still be insects or if they would turn human.
In the first scenario they would probably not react well at all. They live in a world without much conflict and with technology not much different from today. And to be placed in a primal world, where kill or be killed is the only rule, would not turn out well for them.
In the scenario of them turning human, Amelia would probably be ecstatic at first. Humans are a myth with only some relics left to take knowledge from in her world. She is absolutely fasinated by humans. But then she would be overstimulated by all of the constant noise and impressions and have to run away.
She would most likely end up hiding in the most distant and the most quiet place she could find, where the only sound she could hear is her drumsticks hitting whatever she could reach.

Even of my characters life in the future (after 2029), the story itself feels more like if they were living in the 2000s. So they would be OK.

Probably nothing would change because...the setting of Masterkey is nearly identical to the real world as we know it.

First of all, he doesn’t like Earth. Being suddenly placed in one where the existence of aliens is unknown, tech isn’t as advanced to what he’s used to, and radiation kills you instead of just giving you some odd mutations, he would Not Enjoy his time here. And since radiation works differently in fictional worlds, I can see people thinking of his mutations as some sort of body mods or costume stuff. Idk
Hannah: I Am Confusion.
A bit of confusion. Did she suddenly get thrown into the future? She’s heard of the multiverse, but she’s not very knowledgeable on it. To her, her Earth is in its medieval period, but to us, is historically inaccurate and has some fantasy vibes. Though she’s no stranger to advanced tech. This Earth is just a bit behind, but not very favorable.
Rowan: Hi, I time travelled from the past! Or maybe future, depending on how you look at it…
I guess an okay reaction, but people are gonna think of him as crazy lol.
Flynn: Just another planet, but yeesh, super behind everyone else with the tech.
Our Earth would mostly just be another planet, another location to Flynn. Though his very sci-fi prosthetic arm would probably get him some attention.
Ella: I Demand to Know Where I Am!
Unlike her sister, Ella is very much unaware of the multiverse. She’s stayed within her medieval Earth. So what is this strange place??? Why is no one listening to me??? Your clothes are so simple looking….
Trydan: Haha Electricity Go Brrrr
He’s off somewhere playing with electricity. Idk. Doesn’t even have much of a reaction. ‘Okay Then! This Is My Life Now.’
(Poor Trydan’s brain is a bit fried from his electrical mutations)
Kalayo and Zolon: yeah, we’re aliens. What about it?
They are currently messing with the American government.
“We know Area 51 is where you keep the aliens so we’ll just chill here :)”
