Did you ever delete/threw away older art pieces and you regretted it later?

I am so guilty of this! By now I know I have a super negative mindset (toward myself, my art) and I easily punish and push myself into depression and I tore apart and thrown away or deleted many-many drawings I did in the past. And I regretted it heavily, because if I cannot look back at my older pieces, I cannot see how far I have come and how much I have progressed…

yeah, i used to throw away ones i didnt like. but to be fair i almost exclusively drew on my notes, so id cut them out
Luckily no. I know that even when I draw something bad, I can always redraw it later, and the worse the original the better the new one will look. Though there was this one drawing I erased. It was the first sketchbook I got and I wanted to start it with something special. I was really into Zelda BOTW at the time. I made the ugliest drawing of Link ever and was so disappointed that I erasee it and drew some fancy royal vest or something that I saw on pinterest, so now the first page is not even something I thought of myself 😭
Dude I save too much of my art and have had to go through a ton of it to throw away recently, but got a hard drive to save all my pictures of them and digital pieces all together. But have a few backup places too. I don't like throwing away anything.

My least favorite art pieces actually help me realize how far I end up going! At least get pictures of things you don't like, you'll thank yourself later
Nope, I'm one hell of a hoarder so my mum and I have kept e v e r y t h i n g
I don't know where my old drawings went of my friends. 😭
I used to do it a lot with my traditional art. It was like an unbearable itch at the slightest imperfection. With digital I can usually do better, and just leave it as a csp file until I am ready to tackle the project again. I somehow managed to train my tolerance for mistakes and imperfections to a point where I can live with them most of the time.
No, I'm a hoarder and have a shitton of boxes filled with art 😅 Every once in a while I sort stuff out when it gets too much but then most of the stuff i throw out is sketches 😬
I do, but it takes a while to regret it lol
I used to be a lot harder on myself and way too critical. Now I try to focus on all the things I do like about my art! That has helped me a lot to improve, because then I can acknowledge what I want to do better on without ignoring the good things I’ve accomplished! :) Be kind to yourself!
Yes actually! I trashed a lot of them and regret it to this day. Luckily there were a few that I did hold onto. Hated them at first but I can glance back at them now with fondness bc of all the memories they give me ^ ^
did not regret that! not one bit!
i tore up a story i wrote too, but it was getting... out of control and out of context so i decided to cancel its existence subscription and send it into the fire 🔥 ahahaaaaaaaa! i literally burned it!
yes! omg
Yes, and now, everything i've drew below 2020 is some sort of physical lost media
