My first time drawing semi realism

First off, fantastic job for your first time! Some issues that I see however, is the light source is a bit inconsistent :( A softer shadow/light could mask this, and possibly bring the piece closer together. Another thing is the hair doesn’t feel like it’s on his head, and I believe that is because of the over-detailing. Painting larger chunks of hair makes the light source easier to pinpoint, and to choose a good color that compliments the character. Also, I still wonder why people don’t use this easy easy trick, but try adding a light red soft light on the face, and a light purple multiply shadow layer. You’ll definitely see a subtle difference : D Setting the lineart to different types of layers and seeing what looks best works well
