09.05.21 // MOTHER’S DAY

Proverbs 31:10-31
“A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies (...)
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
‘Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.’
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”

Listening to my church‘s sermon today, I feel a range of emotions. There are a lot of thoughts going thru my head. Mother’s Day today feels....different. For my mother, the past 7 months has been a grueling one for her, being diagnosed with cancer, undergoing surgery, going through chemo and radiotherapy. Despite all the pain and exhaustion and emotions she has gone through, I praise the Lord because she is cancer-free today. I look at her and still I cannot comprehend how strong she is. She is my Wonder Woman. By God’s grace and strength, she was able to push through. There’s a lot of things I wanna say, but no words can encapsulate how I truly feel right now so I will post this and just go. I think I am just grateful that God has carried through her entire cancer journey. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there...and especially to mine.

On a side note, this is my very first time drawing a crystal. I used @/anastasiadeg ‘s tutorial (on instagram) for it. It came out way better than I thought it would and I am SUPER proud. I don’t usually draw inanimate objects but hearing today’s sermon I felt compelled to draw this. Enjoy!
