[STORY] Human-proportions..
The afternoon sun was in the sky, the light brightening the horizons as it touched the palace of two rulers. The two were both in a dressing room, despite there being windows it wouldn’t be like anyone could spy on them unless they flew.“Do we have to go?” The younger monarch groaned, buttoning his polo shirt up. He looked over to his sibling, who was applying their lipstick. They looked over and chuckled, like what he asked was a joke.
“Oh come on, it’s not like you’re going to do anything. We just have to sit there and look pretty.” They made sure they looked alright in the mirror and walked up to the younger and tossed his suit at him. They didn’t seem so bothered, as almost everyday they had to look gorgeous and terrifying all the time, but it isn’t like he hasn’t experienced that either.
See, the only problem he had were the people he had to meet.
For some unexplained reasons, inter-dimensional portals had opened up from time to time, leading up to creations of events across the multiple worlds. It is rather strange, and as much as either of the monarchs would want to refuse.. the praise from others did bring their attention to it. A lot of attention.
So of course, being invited to a formal event enticed them to follow along in this set up.
They both wanted to make a good ‘formal’ appearance (some of the things they had posted in those social media things were not very formal) so they used a tradition they had here where they inverted their outfit. For them, inverting their outfits meant you were going to be genuine and showing a good nature towards others. The older monarch, Airis, wanted a skirt or something similar to their outfit and of course Aidan, the younger one, agreed to it. There was nothing wrong with being a little flashy, right?
Aidan sighed as he annoyedly took the suit and slipped it on, adding his corset on the outside instead of under the coat. “Can we not stay there for long?” He raised an eyebrow as he made his way towards the mirror. Airis rolled their eyes and smirked, crossing their arms.
“Only if you promise to not start a fuss.” They know how short of a temper their younger brother had. He can easily be set off by the tiniest of things and will not settle down until he thinks it’s fine. They could hear Aidan mumbling something under his breath while he added his minor make up. They figured it was probably something about this being stupid, but they didn’t really mind it. Apparently, all of their expenses were paid for and so was their trip to the event. Neither of them understood why, but hey, they didn’t have to spend any of their gold on other worlds’ economies.
After Aidan had finished up, the two monarchs made their way into one of the hidden rooms in this grand palace. It was still ornately detailed from ceiling to floor, symbols and patterns of the stars and constellations with golden rims and a glass ceiling to the stars above. It was one of the few rooms scattered around as hiding places and forbidden studies that only these two may enter. Now, well, houses the portal to other worlds. It was annoying to get some of the items out of the room (the risk of it entering into another world was pretty huge) but here it lay. With one exchanged look of annoyance and mischievousness, the two entered the portal.
When they arrived, they didn’t understand why everything looked.. smaller? Smaller to them at least.
Airis was fascinated. While there were a lot of people much shorter than they were, they didn’t know some would be fully grown but only up to their waist! Well— Mithra and a handful of people were an exception but there were more! They couldn’t help but laugh.
Aidan was a lot more confused than his twin. Yes, it was curious that people could be that short, but everything else was so much smaller too. It was going to be a frustrating experience, that’s for sure.
“A-ah! You two must be here for the event, yes?” A person approached the twins, and it was very apparent that they were shaking. Perhaps it was their height and stature that threw them off guard, but there were others that were pretty tall too. Aidan was about to tell this guy off, but Airis blocked that chance and nodded, smiling softly at the person to not look so.. threatening?
They took this.. vehicle on the way there. Luckily it was a lot more their size, or bigger for that matter. It appears that they weren’t the only people who were experiencing issues too. They saw what the event was— some big grand carpet in front of a large structure and a tent covering the long rug. The two got out of the vehicle (a kar? However what was spelled) and noticed the amount of people with those.. were those cameras? They look a lot more different than what they had, and some were just bricks that could take photos? Odd.
“It’s not so bad, is it?” Airis teased, speaking more in their language as Aidan huffed.
This was going to be a looooong afternoon.Aug 12, 2021
