@0li0s's post on Artfol

Weird take, probably (and maybe a bit of constructive criticism for conduct on this app):
It may just be the fact I am sorta formal and professional about this stuff, but the custom filters written in a joking manner often send a weird message to me. Some also aren't specific enough. For example, "boobs" on a drawing with artistic nudity may cause someone uncomfortable with nsfw to assume you are misusing the filters without looking at the drawing to see that it isn't actually nsfw, and they'd comment "just use the nsfw filter." So like, I'd recommend something like "artistic nudity - female" instead, to lessen vagueness and confusion.
I probably put way more thought into ratings and stuff than most though. I actually assigned my manga-style graphic novel an unofficial rating and desc based on Viz Media and MPAA guidelines. wheeze

what bothers me the most is that custom filters were implemented to hide art for non nsfw/gore purposes (like sensitive content, eyeburn, spoilers for a show, whatever) but people are just kinda abusing them with shit like "lol silly bad art xD!!!!!" i don't think the devs added this feature for you to be quirky :/
Honestly, I just think guidelines on what the filters SHOULD be used for would be more useful.
I consider naked boobies nsfw, because it's not safe to look at when you're at work. So I wouldnt put that under a custom filter? It should be under nsfw
And just generally like... Guidelines on what counts under gore. At what point do the Devs think something requires the filter?
As for the custom ones... Yeah I gotta admit I'm just skipping right over them when browsing. So I'm not seeing the abuse. But full custom is maybe not the way to go, and instead focus on set categories.
Like "potential trigger" and a custom field to write the trigger. "Spoiler warning" if you want to put up a spoiler for newly released media.
Just... More obvious guidelines and categories. With more categories as well, it's much easier for people to choose what they want to see and what they don't. Potentially triggering content isn't that big a deal to me? But nsfw is. And maybe I want to avoid spoilers for some media, because some people draw spoilers FAST, lol.
