Cali's first designShamelessly reusing the same image of Cali I use for my commission sheet 
Hehehe, makes me nostalgic to look at Cali's first design. Truth is that she had a more Tim Burton like style because I was very inspired by his art, especially the one shown in his movie "Corpse Bride". That film is what got me into drawing cartoons.
This is why my first cartoon characters used to look with more opaque colors, big eyes with black pupils and more exaggerated designs (I think I should go into practicing more into this last one)
In fact, Cali was part of a fan comic from that movie I made back in that time as the adoptive teen sister of one of my main fan characters and she was an hyperactive, impulsive, naive and friendly young lady, so unlike the melancholic and reflective young woman she's now.
At the end my style evolved as I get more I spired into developing my own cartoon style and decided to stop relying on fanfics Orr already established fandoms and make my characters and their stories my own independent projects. I honestly like my current style more than how I used to draw

Calypso's designs are so cool! My goodness, she really is drastically different from her original version, but even then, some key elements remain! She's still got the curly hair, even if it's a different color; she's still got the fullbody freckles (such a lovely addition); and it looks like her taste in dresses are the same!
I can definitely see some of the elements of Corpse Bride in her old design - the darker colors, the round eyes, the curled smile Even the hands! It's ironic how her new personality is more closer to the subdued personalities of Tim Burton characters than her old one. I really like the "SWISH" you added to the bottom of her dress here - it really shows a lot about her more carefree self And it's also interesting how she's not wearing shoes here
And then her new design - more vibrant, standing tall and proud in her light-blue heels and cerulean dress~ I love the highlights in her hair and the brighter colors! I wonder what her story is like now... is she still an adoptive sister, for example? I really like the dress lines, and the bits of shading that you added are so wonderful ^0^
