When I was 6 I just kind of made them up. Partly used them to imagine stories with, partly as imaginary friends I'd spend time with during recess, and partly I think i wanted to write a book at some point or do something of the sort.

It started with a challenge (mermay) and my first OC was born. After that I created a world and other OCs around her and everything fit perfectly. Now I love my OCs and their lore to death.♡

I felt inspired by some of my highschool classmates that had lots of OCs, and I thought "I wanna make some characters too just for fun without worrying about putting them in a specific strory" so I sat down and started designing my first OC

I had a huge crush on Draco from ItsFunneh's videos and I wanted to do romantic rp with my friend who played as him so I just made a random oc that was much like every other character back in the day (half furry with very overpowered powers basically) and we did a roleplay. It lasted years and ngl was a great story

Ah, Simon. I got him from testing the lasso fill tool on procreate when I first got my iPad back in 2020, Heh.

I made my first oc as an idealized version of myself when I was about 7 because I didn’t like my name for some reason

I just liked making stories as a kid so I just made characters! I don't really remember my first OC anymore, but my oldest one that's still with me is from an FF8 RP group xD

This is gonna date me a lot but in about 2004 I thought I was going to be a writer, so I made characters for a story and incorporated old imaginary friends from even earlier in my life.

Ummm I mean before all of my oc stuff it was more like... Why can't I make a Uchiha character that looks exactly like Sasuke and just happened to be on a mission when Itachi did the thing. Lol

Of the ones I currently have: I watched marvel movies and was like "what's a superpower I could have that none of them already have?" and figured transforming into a dragon would be cool. Gave the self-insert two friends and used them as protagonists of various daydreams for years and at some point thought "huh I'm not tired of them yet. Is this what an oc is supposed to be like?"

I got my first oc by, ig sorta watching a friend draw. She had a main oc of her own and I thought, "Ooh, I want an oc of my own too!" and at first, she looked kinda similar to my friend's oc, bc I had never made an OC of my own before. But over time I ended up re-drawing my main oc more than once until she was her very own, original character that I had created

She wasn´t an OC at first. She was tied to a fandom, but over time, I seperated her from that fandom in order to develop her own story. Now she is my persona since I decided to not tell her story after all.

My first OC is based on a very special pony that I never got to say goodbye to. It's my special way of remembering him and dealing with his loss
