Like many in Yidoralis, Aorihn is a descendent of Old Empireans and Islemen. Though here, he looks a lot more like his Isles side (Asian lol I stayed to close to the refs, so I'll probably do a more accurate portrait later). Despite Yidoralins originating from a population mixed of Old Empireans and Islemen, they no longer associate with Islemen due to an unpreventable mutation that occurs in Yidoralin-Isle children. And of course, the political climate.
If you don't know, my comic, 100 Waves Across the Sea will be a western fantasy / xianxia mix that explores some facets of diaspora and culture blending. Those aren't the focal points of the story, but they are parts that I identify a lot with and so am passionate about! c:Dec 5, 2025

Holy fudge, the lighting on the hair and the shading on the face looks so amazing! The skin is so smooth! Soft pastels are fun to do, but it's been such a long time since I've used them

The way you work with pastels makes the portait so soft and grainy in the "right" spots, like so soft around the eyes and transition between lips and skin, yet grainy parts in the darker hues(?) on the lips and hair make it all come together so pretty. Also think it fits so good with his expression, it feels relaxed and soft:) and man, really like the pops of color in the skin where the shadow hits and the ear>:O
