Things I've now confirmed to make Insta's algorithm punish me unfairly:
Reuploading because I made a mistake (forgot my signature, stuff like that)
Posting at any time that isn't 3PM PST, including if I push the upload button at 3 and the stupid glitchy app doesn't actually upload it until 4.
If I do either of those things it basically shadowbans me, and the posts in question get their reach reduced by ~60-70%!! And I had one post get zero likes for several weeks after having to reupload to fix a mistake. It was absolutely not a bad drawing, and it was a popular character.
This is infuriating when I compare it to other apps: it doesn't seem to really matter when I post on Pixiv or Twitter or Artfol, or if I have to delete and repost.Sep 17, 2021

Instagram's alrithym makes absolute no sense and I can't understand the thought behind it. I only keep mine to keep contact with other brazilian artists who's majority seems to preffer it over twitter.
