Random thoughts...
That this book I'm reading, written by a British soldier in 1940s...
People are more inclined to accept for a fact what they say (not just this one guy, but the British in general), but the moment the "enemy" writes something, they be like, "Oh, don't take it for a fact, but an opinion. Remember they have their biases, etc." As if the victors of the war don't have their biases?? I think both sides will want to paint their struggles heroically, so we shouldn't believe it all as a fact, but merely a POV, a possibility.
Btw this one is not about Europe but specifically Malaya so yeah that's the context lolJan 6, 2023

Can only speak very general ofc, but from my experience through work, ppl who grow up now seems more aware of this, and it's a blizz to see. To see historical events from different points of view is in the curriculum. And ofc can everyone slip form time to time (me too), but I do believe the average person is more critical (for both sides). But it's easier when talking/working with history, current news/events might be harder. It's interesting to get some glimpses in how history is told in other parts of the world.
