I feel very accomplished today now that I’ve drawn something
I had no idea what to draw today, so I tried something a little different and went with the flow. As both a writer and artist, I LOVE looking at book covers maybe more than actually reading them. My favorite types of covers are ones like this— a silhouette with a scene taking place in the middle. At first I was just going to make a regular side profile-portrait, but decided to do this instead.
Once again I can’t give too much information without spoiling (not to mention I’m still at a point where anything can change) but I have mentioned that my favorite genres are dystopian/fantasy. Cosmo’s story isn’t exempt from that, and truthfully, it’s become more and more dystopian with every passing day. Although she isn’t quite the rebel Ryker was, she has her own VERY personal grudge against those that grasp the kingdom she once called home. Maybe someday she’ll find her own path toward cleaning up her kingdom— and finding closure.
Overall I’m super proud of this piece, especially since I’ve never made this type of illustration with a complicated scene at the center before. I definitely want to do it again!Dec 19, 2020
