I need to stop asking for sketchbooks and start asking for cheap notebooks because I have this problem where I can NEVER make any nice drawings on fancy expensive paper, but the second I use cheap scrap paper covered in old notes I gain the ability to create masterpieces

I had the same problem until I started using transfer paper (or graphite transfers if you don't have the paper.) I'll draw on cheaper paper and then transfer it over to the nice sketchbook. I also have one sketchbook for sketches and doodles and another one for nicer drawings that I've transferred. It's really helpful for when the paper get damaged from erasing or stains, too

•Same here. Tried to get at least something done on an expensive watercolor paper. Failed miserably. Notebooks with grid paper? Easy! Even with a ball pen. Any time of day. No need to overthink stuff...

Take all of your drawings on sticky notes or cheap paper and glue them into the good sketchbook. Then add stickers other sketches and washi tape to decorate
