online nutrition coaches: “Chemicals are bad for the human body!”

whoah, wait ‘til you find out what the human body is made of 👀 Plain water is a chemical too.

(I know they mean synthetic additives and ultraprocessed foods, but it’s good to remember that “chemicals” is a buzzword in nutrition. It’s way too ambiguous to be helpful because it includes all of our reality as we know it. A good nutrition coach should know these definitions 🤷‍♀️)

It's hilarious too because even "organic" foods are sprayed with organic compliant pesticides and grown in contaminated, overworked soil. Heavy metals are natural but those aren't good for you XD.

And heaven forbid a nutrition label has something like potassium gluconate listed. People instantly think they are being poisoned 😭 I'm still waiting until they find out the vitamins have real names too lol. Besides some things literally can't be metabolized by the body and pass through you like allulose

There are so many of these terms that become buzzwords and lazy phrases. All natural, unprocessed, organic. Must be good for you then. You know what else is completely unprocessed, organic, and all natural? Cobra venom. Lava. Poison ivy. All kinds of things 😁
IT PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH!!
I know people in real life who use chemicals as a catchall for things they don't like or don't want. "I won't eat anything with an ingredient I can't pronounce" or "Im not getting vaccinated, I don't want chemicals in my body", and than you point it out and they're like 'you know what I mean' and its like ACTUALLY I DON'T BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT!!
