i've had almost four months to think on this, so get ready for the (probably) longest description i've ever written

"now, human, let's see if you are worthy enough to use my power!"
playing as the antagonists in the game, you (the player) would primarily play as Emi who, if you build her up nicely, could become borderline broken. later on, would you play as Kai and Vari and, once beating their chapters, would be able to play as them freely, accessing side quests/missions, and overall making them better units and improving on their stats. while it's not necessary to switch between characters to progress through 50% of the main story, if you only play as Emi, she has a VERY rude awakening for you
at one point, in the game, Emi would have free reign to move around the castle (i don't think i've discussed plot regarding the Kuro, which is great! more at 11, ten years from now-). there, you might run into a door that she specifically requests you go in, most likely in an unassuming way, like her just having a simple thought. once you walk in though, Emi immediately takes control of herself, turning on you (
) as she tests to see whether or not you deserve to wield her however you have her built up at that exact moment

if you successfully defeat her, then all is well! Emi will play coy to her test, and you'll carry on as normal. if you don't, though, she'll intentionally lower her stats in order to encourage you to play as her fellow kin in your next playthrough,,,hopefully
depending on the difficulty you choose, her stats will drop as follows:
• very hard (similar to maddening/lunatic mode from fire emblem): 30% decrease to all
• hard: 15% decrease to all
• normal: 7% decrease to all
• easy: none, since this encounter wouldn't happen
this battle wouldn't happen unprompted - you'll be strongly encouraged to save before walking through the door, so you'll always be able to safely back down if needed (Emi will note the file being reloaded though, and she'll pester you to go back, very obviously this time). but the question remains:
would you challenge the Kuro of Wind?

quick little blurb part: thank you for this challenge! i'm SO glad i stumbled upon it - i always love drawing my bat mom with boss energy vibes, so this was a fun excuse to throw her in another one (❁´◡`❁) i wish i didn't have to stare at this for four (4) months, but adulting is fun
still overall happy with this though! i got to try adding a bit of perspective and well,,,just had fun LOL
i like the idea of the loading bar quietly being an indicator of Emi's overall stats - the less hearts, the weaker she is. all fives hearts and sparkles = you're most likely cooked-
i wanted to add a 'tip: please do not throw anything at your screen or console,' somewhere, but i ran out of space, so imagine it's there sjxcjs

Even her nonchalant way of suggesting to enter the door shows so much about her. And the loading hearts/sparkles showing her stats. Then of course there is the artwork itself! Love her pose and the green lighting on her. The player will be dazzled and sweating at the same time
