Idle.It was late. They should’ve probably head to bed by this point, but their conversations kept them up. It’s not like they minded.
Though, as their eyes grew weary, they figured they needed the sleep now.
“Hey, I’ll be going to bed now. I’ll catch you in the morning, yeah?” Their voice hushed and evidence of their tiredness ebbed as the words came out.
“Of course! Goodnight Connie!” The voice on the phone replied, eliciting a chuckle from the sleepy one. They smiled and wished them a good day as they ended the call.
They didn’t sleep yet. “Connie” wasn’t their real name, but they had to use it. To keep him safe. So he won’t be scared.
Scared knowing that their best friend was a dragon.
