If you pull the drawers completely out, the way onward is behind them. At first I'd try to replace the drawers, pulling them back into place behind me. Of course that's not easy. After the first few times doing this, I gave up. Now I leave them in a neat stack on the floor. They're always replaced by the time I return. I often wonder who lives here. Does it bother them that I keep pulling the drawers out? Are they travelers, or are they trying to deny the fact that there's a gateway to the space between worlds hidden behind their socks?
This part leads back down, and some of the dropoffs are rather tall. In the dark, you have to dangle your feet off the ledge and lower yourself down. You need to trust that the platform is below you. If you turn the wrong way and go off the wrong side, you'd fall -- for a long time.Dec 27, 2021
