Occasionally, I remember that the entirety of Rising Son (the 3rd act of Rectify) revolves around a coup finally coming to fruition. It's the stories I love to hate 
they got me thinking it's a light hearted ensemble drama before suckerpunching me with tragedy. Tbf, the possibility of war looms throughout the story. I mean. Initially, Quan Xi's whole goal is to make sure the coup succeeds. And initially, Xiao Tian's is to make sure it doesn't. Li Li Er aids the cause to undermine the current regime. Zhu Wan lobbies her kingdom's military. The Empress quietly pulls strings with ministers and the Emperor advances his conquests, pressuring surrounding nations. Most glaringly, everyone wants revenge in some form or another.
Some time, I may come back and unblob QX's armor. XD wasn't feeling like painting the ornate details of High Guard General armor just yet, even though I keep saying I want to and keep sketching it here and there..Aug 16, 2024
