•Maybe list them out, then rank them by how much you like each one, and how feasible they are at the moment? I find it usually helps to have something down on a page or something, instead of just free-floating in my brain

Doing simple thumbnails helps me a lot. You get an idea of what the final product might look like and if you actually want to draw it or not.
There have been several pictures that I was like "I have to draw this!" in my head, but then I started and was like "This is not going to be fun to draw..."
