@r0cky_way's post on Artfol

Hey everyone, what are your thoughts on what Artfol has become, as a social media platform for artists?

I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt with the Prisma situation because maintaining this site is probably harder than any of us could ever imagine. And I don't doubt they really need the financial support! But the way they respond to feedback still feels iffy.

I'm also worried about the community... I feel like it's been getting less engaging and supportive, but I'm not sure if that's a me problem or if anyone else has been feeling the same :') I just haven't felt the same support I used to feel before

Yeah it feels increasingly .. empty, when comparing to last year for example. I see so many beautiful artworks with no comments. This is such a good place though, pretty safe, no ai, not many spam accounts so I do enjoy it here. I just wish artfol was bigger. I think the community is right about the backlash of multi-image posts being prisma only. That feature should be given to everyone, give prisma users something else maybe. Like some added profile customization or short animation upload option, idk.
I'm not gonna lie, I've had e few thoughts about stepping out on Artfol and trying something else for a change. I don't have the time or energy these days to be active on multiple platforms, so I would probably consider just focusing on just one if I found another app/site. Not that I'm actively looking for that, but it's been a thought for a while.

The community has definitely changed a bit, which happens everywhere, it's normal, but idk it's in a weird place right now. Like I've been wanting to make some challenges for a good while now, but I haven't bothered because I don't think anyone will even end up seeing them with the way the entire challenge tab works right now, it's really weird. They used to be such fun community things, but they just don't seem to get around that much anymore :/

I'm still gonna lurk around here for now, but I guess we'll see where things go from here. I hope it will pick up again.

yeahhh i absolutely agree that it has to be such hard work! and i really commend the devs for all that they have done, this place has been such a community forreal
however i do agree that they maybe could respond to some feedback a little better? or at least acknowledge some more long-running bugs on the app and whatnot, and what they might work on for those in the future, i think for me its the lack of updates on long-standing bugs and new ones that have made the app slightly more inconvenient to use while still unrolling new updates for other things that is a bit of a sore spot..
i also feel that about the community and i think thats also a part of me wanting to leave, im not really sure what originally caused this but i feel it may have been a combination of bugs and people just naturally leaving... not sure... but yeah the second part is also a reason im considering leaving :/
To clarify a bit, I don't plan on leaving, or at least not soon! And I don't want to encourage anyone to do it. I couldn't possibly do it, not with how grateful I an towards this site for the amazing community it has created. I'm just confused and feel a bit betrayed, but Artfol is such an unique platform that I don't want to see it die anytime soon... sadly I don't think they're taking the best decisions atm (at least in my opinion). But it literally feels like this app is built to foster a good and supportive community, specially with the focus on art challenges and stuff. And I haven't seen that anywhere else!! That's something special that I wouldn't want to lose

I'd still love to stick around and maybe try a little harder to be even more active myself, at least when Artfight is over and I can do art for my own. I'd even like to try to do a challenge to see if people would join and have fun with each other
