The Eldest Daughter
I’ve said recently I’ve been experimenting with some illustration styles, and since I’ve begun writing more, I decided to buy a separate sketchbook to practice different styles on. Since I got a sketchbook designed for water colors and I follow a lot of amazing water color artists, I wanted to try and give the medium a try! I heard about this tip on how to make water colors with washable markers, and Dollar Tree doesn’t have any watercolor paints (I’m cheap and buying cheap supplies from my work is convenient). However, I have a ton of unused markers, so I decided to give it a try!I decided my portrait subject would be Opalescent, a new character I made for Moxie’s story. I think she’s probably my favorite character besides Moxie himself, and I’m excited to share more about her! This actually turned out surprisingly well! I did edit the piece a bit in ibisPaint to get more of a golden hue, but otherwise I didNt change much. I don’t know how well my markers will hold up after a few more of these, but I’m glad I’m at least getting some use out of them
I definitely want to experiment more with this style in future, so you may see more illustrations like this!Sep 22, 2021#halforc
