Time to Shine!
I could’ve gone into way more detail, but I just began to slack off on this piece so some areas are really messy :’) I wanted it done, but despite losing interest halfway, I think it turned okay!As a Pokémon simp since the age of 10 and since I had been wanting to make something like this for ages, I knew I had to enter this contest! So I took my character Cosmo and tried to make her into a Pokémon trainer! It was a little tricky since her canon outfit was actually inspired by Team Plasma uniforms, I managed to create something a little different.
I imagine Cosmo is this universe would be a Pokémon Coordinator and Performer who uses contests and showcases as an escape from her past. She wears her beaked mask in performances so she can’t be recognized or stopped in her travels.
Her team consists of her partner Atticus the Corviknight, and Melpo and Thalia the Rookidee. They are based off actual characters in her story, although I think Atticus would’ve been better represented as a Fearrow (Fearrow just didn’t match the aesthetic I was looking for, so I made Atticus a shiny so he somewhat fit his original design’s colors).
The Yamask represents Cosmo’s imprinted mask of Ryker. Yamask will carry around a mask of their face in life. Whether the Yamask is actually Ryker or not is sort of up for the debate.
Type: Null was part of the inspiration for Cosmo and her story as a whole— plus he’s my favorite Pokémon :’) The visualization of a being restrained and held back by their mask is also a good representation for Cosmo’s struggle with her imprinted mask.
Klang was chosen because of Cosmo’s connection with gears and cogs. She’s the Clockwork Witch and what’s known as a Cog in her world (which I have yet to explore with you guys).
