I'm relatively new to the Melanie fandom - I started listening to her music about a year or 2 ago - but I love her daring and sincerity and style. I'm gonna miss the Crybaby era but hey, at least she's still got her music videos and k-12 film up so I can watch it whenever I want. Her cotton candy baroque crybaby style reminds me of better times in my life.
I'm doing my best to keep making art. I feel like I honestly only keep doing it because I don't really have anything else that gives my life meaning (it certainly doesn't bring me happiness a lot of the time, since I'm usually not satisfied with the end result.) A goal of mine is to be less of a perfectionist, and I think posting here on Artfol, with no algorithm breathing down my neck, will help me do that. I want to post more sketches and get out all the ideas I have in my head without worrying each piece to death (like I did to this one.) I want to be faster and more skilled in anatomy. I need to use art to get away from my not great offline life rn. I still aim to get my comic done this year, and now I've got 8 months left to get it complete. I'm rambling now. I'm gonna go see if I can afford to buy a signed CD of portals (Melanie's album that came out today.) She's such an inspiration to me.

I can't believe I never commented this comic! it's certainly brilliant and you are amazing at your work! and I'm sorry to read you haven't been feeling so great. Art can really help us to get by on life, both the art we make ourselves and the one we admire from others, since what Melanie does is pure art. And art certainly get to save lives, at least doing art has saved mine more than once.
