Bluesky is open now! Care to hear some things I've learned so far or share some of your own?
Here are some helpful things I noticed:
-join artshares and share a ton. Don't be afraid of posting the same art over and over again in artshares. Other artists are aware of the energy it takes to create new pieces and how, like most social media besides artfol, it is fast paced and things get lost fast, so most ppl understand and are fine with it
-hastags work, they're just key words that certain feeds pick up on. So if there is no existing feed looking for those key words, it will not be picked up
-curate your feed. tbh I haven't actually put the effort into doing this, but if you are very particular about what you want to see and don't want to see, then search for certain feeds to follow and how to block things you don't want. I personally just surrounded myself with artists I like seeing and they naturally led me to more people I like. And I've been lucky that the people I see use filters correctly..
since it gets swallowed up in my bsky feed pretty quickly, occasionally I post sketches/silly things there that I don't post here, so if you're interested here's my profile
