My personal guidelines for what I think counts as "Gore" and what is isn't (essentially how I will decide what filter to use when I start posting art containing injuries, as that is a thing in Masterkey a lot):
Rule of thumb for visible injuries: if the wound would send the character to a hospital/need significant care to heal, I will use the filter. Those injuries can be upsetting.
If it is something that you can slap a bandaid on or blood that can be easily wiped away, I won't use a filter. Everyone gets scraped knees and cuts themselves in the kitchen from time to time. It's not disturbing.
Exceptions to the second thing lie in if the injury obviously has thematic elements (like abuse) to it that the viewer ๐ค๐ข๐ฏ ๐ฅ๐ช๐ด๐ค๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฏ ๐ฃ๐บ ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฌ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ข๐ต ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐จ๐ฆ ๐ฐ๐ณ ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ด๐ค. For example, the abuser would need to be alluded to in the image/caption to count. Yeh seems cool, I myself am struggling figuring out if one sketch I did is actually gore/needs a filter because it shows part of the ribcage through an opened skin but there no blood currently and is pretty clean (not sure if I want to add the blood tbh) and to me isn't really disturbing but I don't know about others...
