Byleth's last name is different from many of my focused-on characters' names since he's not a Saraph (OC ethnicity/species), he is a Miragi. That's why he has wings instead of spikes on his head, which always show since his halo is broken. Whether it's wings, spikes, horns, or halos, what is broken is hard to hide.

Byleth's parents immigrated to Saraph lands for business, but left when tensions grew between Saraphs and Miragi. They never approved of their son's closeness to Saraph culture, so they left without telling him.

Byleth was attacked on more than one occasion for supporting both Saraphs and Miragi, and one of the attacks broke his halo, which only led to more hate. Eventually, Jin found him and requested that he becomes the mayor for a village of "outcasts" that she would oversee.Apr 28, 2024
